Our safeguarding commitments

Safeguarding is not a document that sits beside the work. It decides who is allowed near a child, what happens when someone raises a concern, and whether a child is believed.

• Safe recruitment. Background checks and verified references for every member of staff and every volunteer, completed before any contact with children.
• Training before contact, and after. Safeguarding training completed before anyone begins, and refreshed on a set schedule rather than when convenient.
• A named lead. One clearly identified safeguarding lead, published on this site, whom anyone can contact directly.
• Supervised settings. Adults are not left alone with a child as a matter of routine, and the reason for any exception is recorded.
• Concerns are acted on, not managed. A written route for raising a concern, a response that does not depend on the seniority of the person involved, and referral to statutory authorities where that is the right step.
• Children are told. Children are told who they can talk to, in language that suits their age, and are not asked to keep secrets.

Children in our photography

No child in the Foundation’s care appears anywhere on this website, and none will. Every image you see here is one of two things: licensed stock photography, or an image generated for this site. The people shown are not participants, beneficiaries, staff, or volunteers, and the locations shown are not Foundation locations.

We do this for a simple reason. A photograph of a child in care follows that child for the rest of their life, and they are rarely in a position to refuse it. Every image on this site is listed with its source in our photography credits, and we will keep that record accurate as the site grows.

Your privacy on this website

This site is deliberately simple, and that simplicity is the privacy policy.

• There are no forms. Nothing on this site collects your name, email address, or any other detail.
• There are no accounts and no logins.
• We set no cookies and use no analytics, advertising, or tracking scripts of any kind.
• One external request. Pages load two typefaces from Google Fonts, which means your browser contacts Google’s servers to fetch them. That is the only third party this site reaches.
• Standard server logs. Like any website, the server hosting these pages may keep basic request logs. We do not use them to build any profile of you.

If you email us, we hold what you send only for as long as it takes to reply, and we will delete it on request.

Raising a concern

If you are worried about the immediate safety of a child, contact your local emergency services or child protection authority first. Do not wait for us.

For anything concerning the Foundation itself — this website, something we have published, or conduct by anyone representing us — please use the details on our contact page. Those details are currently placeholders; confirmed contact routes, including a direct line to the safeguarding lead, will be published before any programme begins.

Changes to this page

This page will be replaced by full policy documents rather than quietly edited. When that happens, the date of the change will be shown here. Last reviewed: September 2026.
